The first perfumes of Calvin Klein, already classics

After successfully creating his fashion brand in the late 1960s, Calvin Klein diversified into fragrances in the mid-1980s. 1985 marks the release of his very first fragrance, "Obsession". "I wanted to evoke all the sensuality and enthusiasm of a woman delivered to passion," confides the creator. This strong perfume in personality combines the floral and spicy notes with fresh touches that evoke the Orient like jasmine, sandalwood or orange blossom. In 1998, he settled down with "Eternity for Woman", supposed to illustrate the values of fidelity and marriage with a subtle combination of green, powdered and woody notes. In the male version, this gives "Eternity for Men", become a classic of the fern family.

The revolution of the first unisex perfume by Calvin Klein

It was in 1995 that Calvin Klein forever marked his imprint on the world of perfumery. "ck One" is a small revolution because it is the first mixed fragrance, suitable for both men and women. A minimalist and refined fragrance, like its fashion, built around tea, bergamot, fruits and spices. It is supposed to suit everyone, regardless of gender and age. It is a huge success: in 1996 alone, more than 15 million bottles of this perfume are sold! After the success of "ck one", Calvin Klein relapsed with "ck be", a second unisex, very musky fragrance. But success is not at the rendezvous.

Fragrances well in their time

In the early 2000s, he released "Truth" and "Euphoria". As usual, Calvin Klein is very attentive to his time and his fashions. "ck In2U Her", launched in 2007, is a perfect example: it is aimed at teenagers or technosexuals, as defined by the brand, that is to say young people constantly connected to new technologies. In 2010, it returns to a more classic juice with "Beauty", an ode to the woman elegant and refined. In 2013, Calvin Klein puts New York in a bottle and christens it "Downtown". This fragrance combines violet, frankincense and pink pepper, symbolizing the frenzy and hectic life of the American megalopolis. On the screen, it is embodied by the actress Rooney Mara. In 2014, the brand unveiled two new creations: "ck one Red Edition", available in two versions, one for men and the other for women. Each of these two fragrances was created by different nose. Olivier Polge and Bruno Jovanovic developed the feminine version, a fruity floral that features the notes of watermelon and violet leaves on a background of white amber, musk and patchouli. Annie Buzantian created the masculine version, a woody tonic around the red pear, deer, black pepper and ginger.
