Jack Colback looks set to leave Newcastle before the deadline, with Championship side Wolves keen on a loan deal.

The combative midfielder is surplus to requirements at St James' Park, having fallen out of favour with Rafael Benitez.

Hull are another team who are thought to be looking into his situation but it is Wolves who are believed to have caught the 27-year-old's eye.

The Molineux club's ambitious owners have spent big this summer, signing 14 players in all and Colback's promotion experience with the Magpies will undoubtedly appeal to them.

Benitez has been told he needs to offload players before bringing new faces in and it is believed that losing some of the midfielder's wages could free up some much needed funds.

Having joined Newcastle from rivals Sunderland on a free transfer in the summer of 2014 but he could now be set to move to Molineux on loan for the campaign.
