Rochas: a creation, a love


In 1936, the house Rochas launches into perfumery with a first version of "Audace", "Young Air" and "Avenue Matignon". But the first fragrance launched by Marcel Rochas to enjoy a great success is inspired by his third and last wife, Hélène Rochas. The love he bore him was so strong that he asked the creator Edmond Roudnitska to create a perfume in his honor. The so-called "Woman" fragrance was released in 1944. Her crystal bottle is delicately slipped into black and white Chantilly lace. Considered as a small masterpiece, it embodies gluttony, with scents very fruity thanks to touches of plum and peach confitted, refreshed by the presence of bergamot and its chypre bottom the envelope of sensuality. In 1949, "Mustache", the first male fragrance, made its debut in the world of scents.

Success and renown of Rochas


On the death of Marcel Rochas in 1955, his wife Hélène took over the torch and propelled the brand Rochas on the international scene. From the 1960s to the 1980s, Rochas perfumes underwent a new era under the direction of the creator's widow. In 1970, Rochas launched, in the world of scents, a eau de Cologne revisited simply called "Eau de Rochas". The success of this small olfactory revolution pushes the brand to create even more fragrances to sublimate women and magnify the men, refining their brand image: elegance and nobility always at the rendezvous.
