ingredients

300 g of flour
150 g of butter
150 g of sugar
1 egg 1 yellow
Fresh fruit of your choice
Jars of jam of different colors (3 minimum)

Equipment

Baking paper
2 thick wooden sticks of 3-4 mm
1 rolling pin
1 rectangular mold of 24 x 32 cm
Porcelain balls or dried vegetables
1 wheel or 1 sharp knife

Steps

Step 1

Put the flour in a pile on the worktop.
Spread the cut butter in small pieces, mix it a little with flour with your fingertips.
Add the sugar, mix.

2nd step

Dig a hole in the center, pour in the slightly beaten egg and yolk.
Mix, then agglomerate with both hands.
Work briefly, avoiding too much kneading: it would give a hard dough.
Put it in a ball, wrap it in baking paper and place it for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Step 3

Spread the dough with a roll on a floured plan, in a rectangle thick of 3-4 mm: for a regular thickness, move the roll on the sticks placed on both sides of the dough.

Step 4

Dress the baking paper pan, line it with the dough.
Fold it around to form a smaller, thicker hem.
Regularly prick the bottom with the teeth of a fork.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C (tea 4).
Re-slice the dough drops, cut into strips of 4 mm thick, 1 cm wide.
Place them on the dough forming a grid of squares.
Cover with baking paper, then some balls or some dry vegetables.

Step 6

Bake 20-25 minutes.
Remove balls (or legumes) and baking paper.
Fill the squares of jam with a spoon, without exceeding the height of the strips and alternating the colors.
Rewrap for 10-12 minutes.
Decorate with pieces of fresh fruit.

tips

I keep the falls in the fridge before relocating them. If the dough is cold, it is cut more easily.

I prefer roulette. It is the most practical tool for cutting dough strips without tearing it.
