Recently, the creator of "Downton Abbey" presented a new series broadcast on France 3: "The Halcyon" . On the program: romances, betrayals, socialities and dramas in a big family, all that makes the dough of the creator Julian Fellowes. The latter is therefore once again interested in a "powerful" family, this time devoted to the Rothschild dynasty and its accession to wealth in the nineteenth century by becoming the largest private fortune, against a backdrop of war and revolution.

Through each of his series, Julian Fellowes turns to an environment, origins, a different style, always with this family prism. After turning to London, in the family of the Lord Hamilton, in his palace where he will be assassinated and where his family will take over the total management of business, he will stage through the Rothschild dynasty the Jewish community confronted with antisemitism, by drawing an intimate portrait of each of its members. The history of human relations, fraternal struggles, brilliant but disinherited women, generational conflicts, incestuous alliances will also be recounted .

Before discovering this new series that seems breathless, Julian Followes is devoted to another series in preparation: "The Guilded Age" whose release is scheduled for 2019. A series certainly not at the stage of project, therefore, and the NBC channel has already ordered a season ... It is also a relief for the author, who began to develop the scenario in 2012 without finding a buyer so far. Recently, he confided to the Guardian: "Writing ' The Gilded Age' is the fulfillment of a dream " . This time, it will be a family of New York high society of the 80s.
