13 international sailors in the SCA boat
The surprise of this 12th edition of the Volvo Ocean Race ? The 100% female crew of Team SCA, a Swedish company specializing in the field of hygiene and forest products, including proprietary brands Demak'up Nana, Tena, Lotus etc.
Either 1 team and 14 women including 11 sailors, 2 reservists in case of pips and 1 "media woman", responsible for feeding a blog during the 9 months of racing.
After several selection sessions, 13 internationally renowned sailors were selected. For the past 2 years, they have packed their suitcases in Lanzarote (and 3 of them, with husband and child) in the Canary Islands, to follow a specific physical and technical training. Gymnastics, bodybuilding, cardio and daily navigation have set the rhythm of their everyday life.
